    Product description

These briquettes consist of shredded peat, compressed to form a virtually smokeless, slow-burning, easily stored and transported fuel. Although often used as the sole fuel for a fire, they are also used to quickly and easily light a coal fire.

Peat – combustible mineral, that is formed in the process of natural extinction and incomplete decomposition of marsh plants at high humidity and lack of oxygen. These briquettes are ecologically pure fuel type, non-toxic, used for the stoves, boilers – that heats living houses and industrial buildings. Burning time from 6 hours and more. Absence of resin means, of soot and also from a glue and cohesive additives.

My daughter now lives in England but one thing she misses is the smell of turf burning, she has recently bought a fire pit so I was delighted to find Bord Na Mona briquettes I ordered them as a surprise and she is absolutely delighted with them. she told me they are great burning with very little smoke and last really well. I will definitely order more for her and we can both recommend them as we believe they are very good value for money.

100% recommend for open fires or if you plan to sit outside and smell it. No point for closed door stoves as you can get the heat from other fuel, these are for the smell

    3. Richard

the peat arrived on the day stated in good condition. I love the smell of peat in the wood burner and briquettes leave very little ash and burn well.

    4. Joan

I use this sparingly to enliven a reluctant fire. It reminds me of home.
